Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Director of Fine Gardening is accountable for the planning, coordination and administration of all Fine Gardening Management responsibilities. The Director also has the responsibility to motivate and lead an efficient and productive crew while overseeing all activities on the job site while maintaining communication with the client.
REQUIREMENTS:

Know materials, methods, and skills used in various landscapes common to the Midwest region
Horticulture degree or two years experience in Garden Management or related field
Ability to proficiently operate various machinery
Enforce good safety practices
Have a good driving record
Pass DOT drug screen
Read, speak and understand English
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Remain in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time
Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height
Ability to traverse over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces
CLIENT MANAGEMENT:
New sales and contract renewal of Maintenance clients
Scheduling and billing of Maintenance clients
Maintain Client properties including gardens, ponds, lawn, hardscapes, containers, lighting, etc..
Keep and maintain accurate records (time, materials used, design plan, receipts, etc.)
Provide clients with exceptional customer service at all times
Management, sales, and billing responsibility for sub-contractors on Maintenance properties
Annual design and plantings including garden design, installation, and maintenance
Project work such as pruning, replacement planting, and mulching
Ability to read a landscape design and install small landscape projects
Coordinate and install palm trees
Coordinate, install, maintain installed ponds, which includes the following: pond start-up and shut-down
Fish sales, coordination, delivery and care
Water plant sales, coordination and delivery
Seasonal/holiday decorating
Coordinate snow plowing/sanding
EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT:
Assist with recruitment and hiring of Fine Gardening Crew
Conduct new employee orientation and training
Ongoing training and supervision of staff engaged in Fine Gardening management
Communicate and manage people diverse in language, ability, educational levels and experience
Enforce company policies and procedures while being a positive role model
Assess employee performance and assist with career development/enrichment events
MOM’S OFFICE SITE MANAGEMENT:
Nursery care including pruning, organization, inventory, irrigation, etc.
Up keep of vehicles, tools, and equipment assigned to Maintenance crew
Schedule Office Site Maintenance; watering, mowing, pruning, plant care, special events or decor
STRATEGIC PLANNING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
Create new systems for maintenance customers
Help with marketing and development of Maintenance division
Continuously work to improve operations, efficiency
