Behind the Design
Design Notes
The Brief
A lower level with more to give: the clients wanted a bright, welcoming extension of the home, built for hosting as comfortably as for everyday living.
The Result
A full entertaining kitchen and bar, a custom media wall, a spa-inspired bath, a functional mudroom entry, and seamless walkout access — elevated finishes and layered lighting carrying it from movie night to house party.
The Brief
- —A lower level that hosts as well as the main floor
- —A full entertaining kitchen and bar
- —Comfort details: spa-inspired bath, real mudroom, walkout access
01
The entertaining kitchen
A complete kitchen and bar downstairs means hosting never runs up and down the stairs.
02
The media wall
A custom media wall anchors the lounge side of the room — one built piece instead of a TV on a stand.
03
Light in layers
Layered lighting and smart storage keep a below-grade space feeling bright, open, and deliberate.
