The objective of the Assistant Crew Lead is to assist the Crew Lead in leading an efficient and productive crew providing a quality product and service, while maintaining open communication with the foremen and crew members. Reporting to the foreman and Director of Operations, the Assistant Crew Lead is responsible for assisting with the implementation of landscape plans. This individual will take a leadership role including; installing projects, inspecting construction work, and solving problems.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Be honest, respectful, self-motivated, and organized

• Motivate people

• Demonstrate outstanding communication skills

• Learn materials, methods, and skills used in various landscaping common to the Midwest region

• Ability to proficiently operate various machinery

• Have a good driving record

• Pass DOT drug screen

• Obtain a class A drivers license within 30 days of placement

• Read, speak, and understand English

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Consult crew lead with issues concerning landscape project and plan specifications

• Communicate with people diverse in language, ability, educational levels, and experience

• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, efficiency, and customer service

• Assist foreman in motivating crew members for excellence

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

• Remain in a standing or sitting position for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height

• Ability to traverse over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces
