February can be a drag even when it’s unseasonably warm — might as well fantasize about spring ahead of time. Here’s an idea for those who have children or those who embrace their own childish spirit: the runner bean teepee! As easy as lashing a few poles with twine and planting ten seeds, a bean teepee will create a fruitful fort for your own Jack-and-the-beanstalk adventure. Scarlet runner beans are aggressive growers and will yield plenty of yummy pods throughout the summer. Make sure to let a few beans mature and dry so that you can save some seeds for next year’s fun.
