MNLA announces 2017 awards…and we’ve secured two of them!

December is always an exciting time for us here at Mom’s; not only are we busy wrapping up another successful season, sending our Christmas elves out to decorate our clients’ homes, and just engaged in general cheer sprinkling, we are also anxiously awaiting award announcements from the MNLA (Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association for all the non-nerdy-landscapers among you).

Props out to senior designer Heather Grossmann and her talented team of relentless craftspeople. Light applause is acceptable at this time.

Riiiiight??!!! Have you all gotten up off of the floor and back onto your seats yet? Because I’d like to tell you a little about this stunner. Now, I know you all are googling “glass orb water feature” and I don’t blame you but I’m sorry to disappoint: that particular piece CANNOT be found on Amazon. Handmade by a lovely artist from a far away land of magical-water-wizardry, that water feature appears to defy all we know and understand about physics. Somehow it almost makes the infinity edge pool less impressive (almost). Like all the other little details on this project – gas fire bowls, natural stone EVERYWHERE, general splendor and spectacle – we can’t help but be completely amazed at this one-of-a-kind beauty. Obviously, I could not do this all by myself–my chiropractor would have strong words about that–so I have to give thanks to all crews and sub-contractors who made this happen. Part European courtyard, part Aspen Ski Lodge, and part Poolside Fun, this little ditty is a collection of eclectic ideas and materials. View Project

Now off you all go! Dream of sugar plums and chevron-patterned-patios and warm summer evenings!
