Living Wall
Stillwater, MN
Completed 2013
This comprehensive landscape design featuring a pool, patio, fire area, retaining wall, and extensive planting was made complete with a stunning living wall as the backdrop of the pool’s diving board. These homeowners enjoy their time in the sun, and also take in Minnesota summer nights next to the fire enjoying the sound of the pool’s water features.

Behind the Design
Design Notes
The Brief
A comprehensive landscape for sun-lovers: pool, patio, fire area, retaining wall, extensive planting — and something nobody else on the street would have.
The Result
A living wall rises as the backdrop to the pool’s diving board — a green curtain behind every cannonball. Days end beside the fire, with the pool’s water features running under the Minnesota night.
The Brief
- —A full landscape: pool, patio, fire area, plantings
- —A signature moment no other yard has
- —Built for long days in the sun and nights by the fire

02
Water you can hear
