What could be better than a graceful weeping ornamental conifer that looks like Spanish moss and smells like a gin and tonic? Juniperus rigida “Pendula” is an elegant addition to the Minnesota landscape. Big enough to be a centerpiece but small enough to fit in humble spaces, this cultivar of temple juniper is a gem.
Each specimen takes on its own unique form, but they generally grow about 15′ high by 10′ wide. It can be planted at an angle for an even more dramatic effect. The needles are quite bristly so avoid locations adjacent to pedestrian traffic.
