When done well, a remodel has the power to add a lot of value to your home. Bathroom remodels in particular are manageable and a great option for an upgrade (psst…and oftentimes forgotten about!) If youโ€™re thinking about remodeling your bathroom, we have a great before and after remodel that showcases this breathtaking, simplistic update including a few essential improvement tips you can take with you. For this remodel, the space was opened up (i.e. fewer cabinets and countertop space) to create a breathable and ideal space. Bathrooms can feel cluttered with standing toilet roll holders, too many cabinets, recessed soap dishes and counter space with random knick-knacks. You want your bathroom to be chic and open to create a sense of zen. So, the cabinets should be practical and plentiful; each must have a purpose. In this bathroom, a bench with added cabinet space in a neighboring mudroom is an effective solution. White light color fixtures and off-white wall color can also open up the space quite well.

This space was also adjusted in size with the color selections. Beautiful white cabinetry and countertops create the illusion that there is even more space.
And cleanliness! Also, if you do decide to have shelving in the bathroom, open shelves (like the image of the mudroom) is a great design element. Open shelves create an illusion of more space as well. If you have private items in your bathroom, put them in a basket and keep on the open shelf instead.
The floor, a white classic tile, infuses the bathroom with character. When picking bathroom flooring, itโ€™s important to always consider the rigors of bathroom cleaning management. A white floor always looks clean and ceramic/porcelain tile lasts forever. The added red flowers are such a nice touch. Plants and flowers in a bathroom should never be an afterthought. We donโ€™t want this particular bathroom to appear sterile with all of the white, so a pop of color adds some festive personality. When remodeling your bathroom, always consider adding a nook or a shelf that can act as the perfect plant-home.
As far as accessories, this bathroom upgrade is simple and chic. The mirror, a classic touch, enhances the light in the room. Adding a frame to the mirror can hide any flaking that may be caused by bathroom wear and tear. It also looks expensive and ties the bathroom look together with the general home design.
